Canada Waterfowl

This is where the legends about Canada Goose hunting were born. Hunting like you always wished it could be. From the first flights of the giant Canada's - huge flocks of Snow geese, Speckle bellies and millions of smaller Canada's - to the last flights of red legged Mallards, this area has traditionally attracted some of the largest concentrations of waterfowl in the Pacific, Central, and Mississippi flyways.

Geese:

Our morning shoots, we target Greater and Lesser Canada Geese, although on occasion we will hunt Snows, "Blues" variation and the Ross Goose, and White Fronted "Speckle belly". We usually hunt in a pea field out of stand up blinds.

Ducks:

We hunt ducks in the afternoons, but often ducks are shot in the mornings over the goose decoys too. Our duck shoots are a combination of field and water hunts. Our primary focus is Mallards, along with other Dabbler species which include Pintails, Gadwalls, and Teals. We will shoot Divers on occasion which would include Redheads, Canvasbacks, Scaups, Ring Necks, Golden Eyes, and Buffleheads.

The Alberta Professional Outfitters Association has negotiated set prices with Air Canada. From most major locations in the States to Edmonton. LAX & SFO are both under $400 booking up to 1 year in advance. We will make all of the airline reservations at no additional charge if you wish, or you can make your own.

Tips

The suggested tip would be 10% of your trip price.

A 3 day hunt would be as follows;

Hunt with Outfitter Bobby Lindsay on this ultimate guided hunt. Pokolodi Outfitting has some of the best wingshooting in North America. Early season hunting you will fly into Edmonton where you will be picked up by your guide and travel East to Lloydminster, Sasketchewan and Alberta. In the morning, we shoot Canada Geese "Honkers", White fronted Geese "Specs", Snows, Blues, and Ross. On the drive in from the morning hunt, we find upland birds including, Hungarian Partridge "Huns" and grouse. In the afternoon your duck hunting guides will take you out to shoot ducks, which include canvasback, wood duck, mallard, mallard duck, gadwall, pintail, teal, wigeon, widgeon, scaup.
